New Moon, New Crystals, New Deck ✨

Releasing old, nurturing new

One of the things you may hear in this community if you’re seeking new tools to work with (cards, crystals, oils, plants, etc.) is to let your body decide or let the item find you.

Does it feel good in your hands?

Were you drawn to it somehow and can’t quite explain it?

Is there a smell or color that soothes you?

Did it show up out of the blue?

When I stepped into the Eye of Horus a few days ago, a couple of things happened:

-The two Garnierite palm stones featured here caught my eye so strongly. Perhaps because that soft seafoam is my very favorite color, but there were a lot of things surrounding them to look at that were much louder and more vibrant. But like a cardinal’s flash of red against a snowy landscape, these two were all I saw.

-I asked to see decks—tarot, not oracle—that didn’t diverge too much from Rider Waite as I’m still learning and digesting the basics. There was a deck with birds that I wanted to love, but something didn’t feel right. Then I picked up the deck you see today, Pagan Otherworlds, and it clicked. The textured cards and colors and vibe were just right.

Why am I telling you this?

Stay open to the idea that the tools may find you, instead of the other way around. I thought I was going for one thing, and it didn’t feel right. But the items I left with that we’ll be playing with today were in alignment.

Is this important?

I think so. You’ll know if something doesn’t feel right, and in that case, I don’t think it will connect in the best way with the messages you need to hear most.

A recent New Moon

This is a two-card spread. The first card represents something to be gently released, the second, something to nurture and embrace.

Take notes and set a reminder to revisit these energies at the next New Moon to see how things are going and where you may still need support. The New Moon energies carry with you monthly and can serve growth very well.

Be gentle, tell yourself “I love you.”

The Cards

Which pile draws you in the most?

Now is the perfect time to ask for support around your New Moon intentions. What can be released? What should you move toward?

If nothing comes to mind, try, “What do I most need to hear right now?”

Breath. Listen. Feel. Then choose.

The crystals & stones:

1-Garnierite: soothing, grounding, strength during turmoil✨heart chakra

2-Garnierite: soothing, grounding, strength during turmoil✨heart chakra

3- Black Moonstone: calm emotions, feminine energy, hormonal imbalances✨root & third eye chakras

Hold up!

To release: Waxing Crescent Moon

The Waxing Crescent marks the first moon phase after the New Moon and often symbolizes a time of faith and positivity. A time to surrender and trust.

This card is a literal reminder that more is unseen than seen at this time.

Release over-planning and over-thinking the things that are top of mind right now. You are most likely trying to be too controlling of a situation that, like all things, is ultimately out of your control.

If you find yourself over-thinking, try to release overthinking and allow.

To nurture: Page of Swords, reversed

Swords remind us of the mind and intellect. This spread is strongly reflective of an internal mess of thoughts in your head.

The Page of Swords reversed warns that you are moving hastily, maybe even running your mouth without really connecting to what you’re saying.

The Page offers you the opportunity to be curious instead of certain, to embrace new ideas instead of running around the same old ideas over and over.

Together, these cards are asking you to get out of yo’ head and relax. Take a deep breath. When you start working the problem around and around, step back and turn your attention toward something light, fresh, and new.

To release: Ten of Wands

The Ten of Wands is heavy.

It represents extra responsibility, hard work, and the final leg of a very tiring path. Sometimes we’ve pushed and pushed to get to the end of, or complete, something. The irony of the Ten, is that even though you’ve reached the “end” you may be carrying more than when you set out.

The good news? You’re called to release all of it. Let. It. Go.

We often stay in situations far too long. It’s okay to move on.

Releasing burdens should always be approached gently and with appreciation. This may mean that you’re finally able to send a child back to school so you can do something else with your day. It could be a health-related issue that you surrender, looking forward to healing instead of sitting in what is.

Feel into what can be as often as possible, even for a few seconds at a time.

To nurture: Eight of Wands, reversed

Are you resisting a big change or opportunity?

The Eight of Wands reversed reminds us that without alignment we encounter frustration and delays. It takes us longer to get to where we want to be.

Learn to embrace the change happening around you. Find your alignment with what is transpiring and hold that space as often as possible, always.

Together, there is a lot of energy here. The shadow is a powerful block keeping you in a state of too much burden, the light is trying to push you forward, and quickly.

Hang on for the ride and release what you can that is holding you back.

To release: Page of Wands

The Page of Wands asks that you redirect your energy from something that isn’t serving toward something that feels good and lights you up. He is full of new ideas and firey energy, but can’t get through if you’re blocking the energy.

Are you spending a lot of time worrying about something you can’t control? Did you think something would work out a certain way and it doesn’t seem to be going that way? Are you feeling a lot of pent-up emotion towards someone or something?

Take some time to release any thoughts and actions that are not serving you at this time. This will make space for the might of the World's energy.

In releasing what doesn’t serve us, we aren’t losing something but making room for something new.

To nurture: The World

You are so close to it.

You’ve spent a long time investing in something that is near payoff. It might be a work project, or a phase of life from the pandemic, a pregnancy, or a relationship.

You’ll know. Whatever you’ve been working so consistently and intently on is nearing completion and has many gifts on the other side if you’re open to receiving them.

Be prepared to find opportunities that you didn’t expect. Often we work, work, work toward something and what we find on the other side isn’t what we expected, but exactly what we needed.

Embrace your receiving mode. Revisit the principles of Law of Attraction, and reacquaint yourself with a true receiving mode if you’re not sure.

This is a very exciting phase for you, but the work is still in opening up to the gifts of what you’ve created as well as releasing the outcomes you’re trying to control.
